(Akron) – Here comes the Akron Beacon Journal.
With the Cleveland Plain Dealer reducing home delivery to four days a week next month, the Beacon Journal announced Tuesday that it's expanding seven-day home delivery to the communities of Strongsville, Brecksville, Broadview Heights, Hinckley, North Royalton and Brunswick.
“We have heard from residents of these communities who want to read the Beacon Journal,” said Jim DeLuca, vice president for circulation in a front page announcement. “With this demand we believe that now is a good time to deliver our newspaper to these readers.”
The Plain Dealer has announced that it will end seven-day home delivery on Aug. 5. Instead, it will deliver “premium editions” on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and a “bonus edition” on Saturdays. Printed copies will be available for sale at stores on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, they just won’t be delivered.
