(Cleveland) - Ariel Castro's legal squad is speaking out. Cleveland lawyers Jaye Schlachet and Craig Weintraub are representing the 52-year old Castro who is charged with the kidnappings of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michele Knight, all three rescued last Monday from Castro's home on Cleveland's Seymour Avenue where they had been held captive for more than ten years.
The attorneys spoke exclusively to Channel-3 News Investigative Reporter Tom Meyer. Schlachet and Weintraub say Castro will plead not guilty to all charges. Schlachet says Castro "loves dearly" the daughter he had with Amanda Berry.
When asked if he fears for his safety by taking the case, Weintraub said "I hope members of the community can simply understand what the role of the attorney is and that they don't hold me personally accountable."
