Cleveland lawmakers OK parks deal

(Cleveland) - Cleveland City Council members have signed off on a plan to allow the Cleveland Metroparks to run the state-operated parks on the city's lakefront.

The state of Ohio has leased the parks since 1978. The legislation calls for the Metroparks to lease the parks from Cleveland for 99 years.

The properties include Euclid Beach, Villa Angela, Gordon Park and Edgewater Park. They include 444 acres spaced out over 14 miles of lakefront property.
