(Cleveland) - Get ready to debate...'Cleveland Magazine' has released its annual Rating the Suburbs edition.
The 2013 edition hits mailboxes and store shelves with the expectation of controversy. Is Solon really the best? Why isn't Cleveland Heights in the top ten? Why is Mayfield Heights a best bargain?
Editor Steve Gleydura says the rankings are based on three major categories: safety, education and housing. Other factors are taken into consideration based on reader feedback.
The top five for 2013 are Solon, Rocky River, Avon, Westlake and Bay Village.
Gleydura says the intense debate over the rankings has abated a bit over the years, but he says people remain passionate about their towns.
Gleydura also says the ratings are a guidebook of sorts. He recommends that people look at communities for what’s most important to them.
By the way...Rating the Suburbs is always the biggest seller for the magazine.
