A celebration of cycling

(Middleburg Heights) - The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is announcing a major cycling event to be held the weekend of September 27-28. It will involve about 2,000 riders, and is projected to generate $200,000 in economic activity.

The announcement was made by Jeff Pacini of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission at others, at Fat Head’s Tap House on Sheldon Road.

Pacini says it’s an effort to celebrate cycling, and all the various assets Cleveland has to offer.

On September 27th, there will be Velodrome racing, at the Cleveland Velodrome, Ohio's only high speed cycling track. That same day, at Edgewater Park there will be a Cyclocross, and a Night Ride.

Registration for the races will range between $25 to $35 dollars, with discounts for multiple races. Registration opens April 1st. For details go to NEOCycle.org.
