(Cleveland) Imagine riding over 100 feet above the city of Cleveland in a cable car that would take you to numerous destinations. That's something the city is considering. John Stahl is President and CEO of LeanDog Software a company that has been working on the project for several months. Stahl says he's been communicating with RTA, Positively Cleveland, and several groups and everyone welcomes the idea.
Stahl says commuters could travel from the Muni Lot, to the Horseshoe Casino, to Voinovich, to the East Bank of the Flats and several other places.
As for money to build the cable cars, a company from Switzerland is working with the software company with financing and engineering. "We need to raise $500,000.000 to make this a reality". Stahl says there needs to be a feesability analysis done to make sure this will work for the city.
Other issues will also have to be looked at. For example, Stahl says the Skylift can't have a reflective exterior because it would travel past the airport.
