More heroin indictments in Cleveland

(Cleveland) - More heroin indictments have been announced in Cleveland.  Federal and state law enforcement officers says thirty-two suspects have been charged, three on the federal level, 29 more on the state level.

The majority of those indicted are part of the gang the 'Lakeshore Boyz' which is accused of selling heroin and waging violence in Cleveland's Collinwood and Glenville communities and also in the City of Euclid.

The indictments were announced at the Alandt Golden Age Senior Center in Collinwood.

The investigation into the operation took more than a year.  All three suspects hit with federal indictments are in custody, 18 of the 29 charged on the state level have been taken into custody. 

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty, U.S. Attorney Steven Dettelbach, Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson, Euclid Mayor Bill Cervenik, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath, FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Todd Wickerham and others took part in the news conference.
