New apparel jobs are coming to Cleveland

(Cleveland) - New apparel jobs are coming to the city’s near east side. The Wahconah Group is setting up its new headquarters and manufacturing center inside the old Goodwill Building on East 55th Street at Central Avenue.

CEO Isaac Crawford says his company is relocating to Cleveland because it has a good manufacturing base, good quality of life, great workforce, and easy access to America's major commercial centers.

The Wahconah Group will be manufacturing made in America clothing and has a contract to provide all weather coats to the U.S. Postal Service, but will market items to consumers as well under their "Rain, Heat and Snow" line. They also plan to sell wearable electronics.

Isaac Crawford show one of their coats to U.S. Senator Sherrof Brown.

Crawford says they will be hiring 150 to 200 workers to start, and will hold a job fair on March 19th. They hope to be up and running in six months.

Founded in 2011, The Wahconah Group designs, sources, manufactures, and sells apparel through a multiple lifestyle brand strategy that includes licensed brands, owned brands, tailored clothing with a focus on men’s apparel, and private labeling/contract manufacturing.
