Masonic Lodge fire

105-year-old Masonic Lodge at East 55th and Superior was gutted by fire and it could be arson.

  •
It was a massive blaze on the east side Wednesday night at the Cleveland Masonic Temple on East 55th near Superior.

  •
Crews continued pouring water on the debris Thursday morning.
  •
Upon arrival, firefighters worked to both put out the fire at the temple and confine the fire to keep it from spreading to a neighboring church and business.
  •
The 105-year old building had recently been approved for renovations.
  •
12 crews were on hand for the fire and water was relayed from several blocks away.
  •
Nobody was injured fighting the fire, no word yet on a cause or damage estimate.
  •
Since the building was vacant, arson is a strong possibility.
